The restorative power of a walk in nature cannot be denied. We connect with an awareness much larger than our worries and are able to transcend difficulties. I find that art is also powerful in this way. A stage production, engaging music, great literature, or a fine painting, can expand us beyond our human concerns.
In our fast-paced, modern world, it is easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts, and the many distractions that pull us away from the present moment. Developing a state of "mindfulness", purposefully paying attention without judgement, offers us awareness, appreciation of the present moment, and the ability to focus.
To empty your mind and be awake and responsive in the moment takes practice. This state of being allows creative endeavors to occur and if, its a "Walk in the Park."
The artist’s journey is not just about the final masterpiece; it is about the process of growth and discoverythat unfolds along the way. Embracing this journey allows us to celebrate every step towards becoming better artists. Each stroke of the brush, each experiment with color and texture, and each moment of artistic exploration contribute to our personal evolution as creative beings.
