This is an original print laminated onto a board and framed in a barn wood frame. The image is from a dream I had about the time my father moved our house on a flatbed truck to our ranch. In the dream I'm balancing on the roof of the house as he pulls it.
The messages I've added around the images says: As you move through the journey called Life, don't forget to dance under the stars.
As much as I enjoy traveling to urban cultural areas, I’m forever infatuated with the dry, sunny vistas of the Western Landscape. The clear air provides defined horizons across vast distances without buildings or humans.
The Golden Hour, when the light of the day reaches a warm crescendo, I feel grateful, calm, and contemplative. And sometimes it calls for a glass of wine and a celebratory toast! Congratulations! You’ve completed another full day of living!

Practicing awareness of, and cultivating attention to, the deeper voice of the soul is the basis of my creative process. When I’m in my head, plotting, overthinking, analyzing, and trying to please myself or others, my art is self conscious and shallow. When I allow the whispers of “try this or you could do that” to lead the way, the result has greater resonance.
When I was a young mother in Wyoming, my mother and I would drive with the kids 56 miles to the closest greenhouse to buy pots of annuals for the yard. I always chose red geraniums, which I now know symbolize good health, positive emotions, and goodwill. Such a great gift for self and others!
Framed in a gold floater frame.

The restorative power of a walk in nature cannot be denied. We connect with an awareness much larger than our worries and are able to transcend difficulties. I find that art is also powerful in this way. A stage production, engaging music, great literature, or a fine painting, can expand us beyond our human concerns.
In our fast-paced, modern world, it is easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts, and the many distractions that pull us away from the present moment. Developing a state of "mindfulness", purposefully paying attention without judgement, offers us awareness, appreciation of the present moment, and the ability to focus.
To empty your mind and be awake and responsive in the moment takes practice. This state of being allows creative endeavors to occur and if, its a "Walk in the Park."
The artist’s journey is not just about the final masterpiece; it is about the process of growth and discoverythat unfolds along the way. Embracing this journey allows us to celebrate every step towards becoming better artists. Each stroke of the brush, each experiment with color and texture, and each moment of artistic exploration contribute to our personal evolution as creative beings.
