I find that art is also powerful in this way. A stage production, engaging music, great literature, or a fine painting, can expand us beyond our human concerns.

In our fast-paced, modern world, it is easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts, and the many distractions that pull us away from the present moment. Developing a state of "mindfulness", purposefully paying attention without judgement, offers us awareness, appreciation of the present moment, and the ability to focus.

To empty your mind and be awake and responsive in the moment takes practice. This state of being allows creative endeavors to occur and if, its a "Walk in the Park."
